Project Principal (09044)

Responsible for the business development of existing and new clients for Stanley Consultant’s Federal Business. The Project Principal will focus on the Northeast region of the United States (from Virginia to Maine), continuing the development of existing Department of Defense agencies while expanding our client base to other Federal agencies. Responsibilities include sustaining existing and developing new business contacts with government officials, securing engineering engagements and maintaining client relationships. The Project Principal will also manage preparation of proposals, presentations, contract procedures, and client invoicing and collections. A successful candidate will enjoy the development of close client relationships, creative approaches to project development, continuing leadership responsibility during project execution, and personal dedication to serving client needs. Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Architecture or specialty field from an accredited four-year college or university, PE or AIA and 10+ years experience required. Special skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills, personal relations and motivation to operate effectively with minimal direct supervision are fundamental to success. Experience with a consulting engineering organization and a proven track record of successful project development and project management are desirable. Sales experience involving consulting engineering services is a plus. Travel is involved. The position will initially be located within an established Stanley Consultant’s office; eventually relocating to the Washington DC area.
